Here is the newest addition to Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

This video clip is of a hoist rescue.
The hoist was approx 110 feet.  An 82 year old man fell off a short waterfall approx 10 feet. Patient had minor head lacerations and below normal vital signs. The hospital was only 2 minutes by air, or 30 minutes by vehicle due to the off road conditions. Ventura County Sheriff's Department, along with the Ventura County Fire Department decided to proceed with the hoist due to the patient's deteriorating vitals. The patient was stabilized during flight and rushed to the emergency room. The patient was treated and kept overnight for observation.		 4:13 7.25 mb
