Three suspects committed a robbery,
then fled in a vehicle. Within
minutes, ground officers spotted the
suspect vehicle at a convenience
store. When they contact the
suspects, they ran. One suspect was
arrested at the scene, and the other
two fled on foot into a residential
area. A San Diego PD helicopter was
called to help with the search. In
less than three minutes, the
helicopter crew--callsign "ABLE"--
located a heat source with their
onboard FLIR unit.

San Diego PD Officers pursued a
stolen car on the freeway. After a
short time, the suspect pulled over
and fled on foot into some brush
alongside the freeway. Officers set
up a perimeter and called for the
helicopter to conduct a FLIR search.
A possible target was found with
FLIR and officers were directed to
it. Unfortunately for the ground
officers, the possible target was
not the suspect. Listen carefully.
