A Texas DPS helicopter responds to a vehicle pursuit initiated by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office involving a possible DWI suspect. Garland Police assisted with the pursuit, including K9 Officer Clark and police service dog "Blitz". Spike strips are used to deflate the suspect's tires. The vehicle pulls over and the suspect flees on foot.  He is apprehended by Officer Clark and "Blitz."

The Rockwall County Sheriff's Office conducts a traffic stop and the suspect flees on foot. Officers learn the suspect has several felony warrants. A Texas DPS helicopter responds to the heavily wooded area and locates the subject using a FLIR.  A Rockwall PD K9 unit is directed to the suspect, who flees again on foot. Perimeter units are then directed to suspect after he lays down in tall grass.

ALEA New Unit Start-up Clips This VHS video tape is designed for presentation to government leaders. It outlines the value of airborne law enforcement and several considerations agencies should take into account when planning for an air support unit.

Three suspects committed a robbery, then fled in a vehicle. Within minutes, ground officers spotted the suspect vehicle at a convenience store. When they contact the suspects, they ran. One suspect was arrested at the scene, and the other two fled on foot into a residential area. A San Diego PD helicopter was called to help with the search. In less than three minutes, the helicopter crew--callsign "ABLE"-- located a heat source with their onboard FLIR unit.

San Diego PD Officers pursued a stolen car on the freeway. After a short time, the suspect pulled over and fled on foot into some brush alongside the freeway. Officers set up a perimeter and called for the helicopter to conduct a FLIR search. A possible target was found with FLIR and officers were directed to it. Unfortunately for the ground officers, the possible target was not the suspect. Listen carefully.
