Search and Rescue Volunteer becomes a Search and Rescue Helicopter Pilot

Monday, November 26, 2012

SNOHOMISH, Washington (November 26, 2012) – Jennifer Stollwerck spent the past 15 years volunteering as a Helicopter Rescue Technician for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.  During that time she was one of the rescuers who were short-hauled or hoist inserted in the Cascade Mountains to rescue the lost or injured.  She is now piloting that same helicopter, earning her commercial helicopter certificate recently  through Snohomish Flying Service school at Harvey Field in Snohomish.

Chief Pilot Bill Quistorf  of the Sheriff’s Office states that “Jennifer has excelled in her flying duties and has demonstrated calm, cool, professionalism and confidence during a number of recent mountain rescue operations.  She brings a wealth of knowledge and rescue experience to a demanding job in this rugged flying environment.”

The Snohomish County Volunteer Search and Rescue Helicopter Rescue Team is an all volunteer, non-profit organization supervised by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
